Mike Love is a contemporary Florida artist carrying forward the legacy of the legendary Florida Highwaymen as the nephew of Al Black, one of the movement’s original painters. Working in a deliberately old-school style, hand-building his frames and often selling his work fresh from the easel. Love creates atmospheric “old Florida” landscapes, seascapes, and historic scenes using his signature Persian-blue palette softened with hints of purple. His paintings are meant to evoke calm and connection, while quietly preserving stories and places that shaped Florida’s cultural history. It all comes together blending beauty, memory, and tradition in every piece.

Karen’s life in art has been shaped by a quiet, unwavering devotion to seeing the world through light, shadow, and placement. Though she earned her B.F.A. from Florida State University, family life and a career in nursing took center stage for many years. When she returned fully to her creative path, her work quickly found national recognition through juried shows and major exhibitions, and she became a signature member of both the Florida Watercolor Society and the Society of Animal Artists. Her paintings have also been accepted multiple times into the internationally respected Birds in Art exhibition.
Beyond the studio, Karen is deeply committed to sharing what she has learned. After opening her own gallery in 2017, she began teaching at Stuart Art Supply and at The Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta, and now also creates online classes with The New Studio for the Visual Arts in Jupiter. Her gallery brings together a lifetime of observation, discipline, and rediscovered creative freedom, offering work that feels both technically refined and quietly alive.
